What is RISE?

RISE is a community that gathers together with a common purpose of viewing fitness through a holistic lens. Through classes online and in-person, as well as mini-retreats at the studio in scenic Western Michigan, RISE invites you to join us in breaking away from the mainstream fitness culture. We walk alongside you on personalized journeys of well-being focusing on equipping you with the tools you need to tap into your personal power.

Valerie Bauer

The RISE Holistic Fitness project comes from Valerie Bauer, a single mother of four incredible adult kids. She is inspired by great music, style, all things vintage, and her love for nature. She is on a journey of well-being and rediscovering herself by creating a lifestyle that honors spirit, mind, and body. Valerie has worked in the fitness industry for over 30 years and has a special interest in working with women in mid-life and beyond. Valerie is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor, a Menopause Coaching Specialist, and has 200 hours of Yoga Teacher training.


Christy Gasper

Christy Gasper completed her 200 hour training in Trauma-informed Vinyasa Yoga and 200 hour training in Cusco, Peru, focusing on Vinyasa Hatha, and Restorative styles of yoga. She shares practices that promote centeredness, growth, healing, and connection. Christy lives at an organic apple orchard and enjoys walks at the farm with her dog, Apu. She loves sewing, painting, reading, and traveling.
